Located along the Atlantic coast, this highly desirable region of Florida is comprised of Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. It is one of seven “Coast” regions of the state and lies just above the Gold Coast of Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Broward Counties. All of the Treasure Coast is shielded from the Atlantic Ocean by narrow sandbars and barrier islands that protect shallow lagoons, rivers and bays and offers numerous lakes and rivers throughout the region. Larger communities of the Treasure Coast include Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Palm City, and Sebastian while smaller, more intimate communities include Stuart, Jensen Beach, Hobe Sound, Port Salerno, and Hutchinson Island.
